*The Frederick Keys are all about helping out the local community and are always looking for new ways to give back. Earlier today, second baseman Jerome Pena and catcher Michael Ohlman went out to Poolesville, MD to hang out with some other ball players at the Stevens Park Summer Rec Program.

Keys catcher Allan de San Miguel visited Frederick’s Seed of Life Nurseries today as well to talk to the kids about eating healthy.

*We have about 200 hundred full-time and game-day staffers here at Harry Grove Stadium, so it is safe to say that running a professional ball club is somewhat of a big production.  Despite the sheer number of staffers, there is only one Robbie.  The Frederick News-Post sat down with part-time staff member, Robbie Shaffer, his family and other staff members of the Keys to discuss how much of an influence just one teenager has on the entire ball club. You can read Stan Goldberg’s entire article here.

“It means a lot because I love sports and I love being around people,” Robbie said of his job. “It has helped my self-esteem.”

*Congratulations to last night’s Twit Pic winner of the game, Nick Dabruzzo!
